| UT Researchers recently concluded that the unusually high number of hurricane activities in last couple of seasons weren't that unusual to begin with. After studying hurricane data for past 300 years or so, they've concluded that the number of hurricanes in recent years are right where they should be. It is just that in 1970's through 1990's, there were unusually low number of hurricanes.
This finding doesn't sit well with Al Gore and other Environmentalist Wackos, who often site the high number of hurricanes as an evidence for global warming. They says that the increase in the number of hurricanes is a sure sign that there is a huge climate change. But the truth is that there always have been that many hurricanes, and there always have been climate changes. Earth goes through a cycle of climate warming and climate cooling all the time. And there is no science behind their claim of Global Warming (They say the consensus is that earth's temperature is rising. But whenever someone mentions the word "consensus," it is no longer science. Besides, there is no consensus anyways).
So then, why are the liberals so caught up in this Global Warming stuff? It is for the same reason that they want Universal Health Care. Not so much that they care about the well-being of everyone in America or in the World for that matter, but for power over everything. They want their hands on everything. They want big government that will control every facet of the lives of Americans.
If they truly care about the climate changes, then they ought to change their lifestyles first (we all know that Al Gore produces more carbon emission than the vast majority of Americans). And they should be happy when there are reports that Global Warming might not be happening. But no. They get mad, because it interferes with their agendas for power. That is why they make one scientist speaking at NASA apologize (House Speaker Nancy did so), for even mentioning that there might not be rise in earth's temperature.
Sadly, many of so-called conservatives act the same way. Oh, I'm sorry, they're "moderates." But how many great "moderate" leaders do we know? Democrats gained the control of both houses, not so much that people support them, but because many of the conservatives were frustrated with the direction GOP was going: bigger government, lots of government programs, etc. As much as I hate to see GOP party lose, I think they might be heading down that path, because they've strayed away from conservatism. Until that changes, GOP will lose once again.
Where is Newt when you need him? I, for one, want to see Newt '08 sign up soon.

I don't know where or how to begin. The tragedy at Virginia Tech campus has caused a number of comments and remorse and grief. What a tragedy! It is sad, somewhat shocking, to see how certain people do not value "life." I certainly want to express my condolences to the families of victims and pray that things like this never occurs again.
What makes me angry, though, is how people try to use this opportunity for their political interest. It sickens me that many are trying to bring up political issues like FTA and Gun-Control Laws. When I read Korean newspapers, I often see stories about how this might affect Korea-US relations and whatever points we've earned for FTA agreements, we might lose because the perpetrator is Korean. There is a talk about how this might negatively impact Korea's efforts to negotiate itself as a Visa-free nation with US. There is also talk about how this tragedy may lead to Korean-Americans being mistreated. While I think the last is a legitimate concern, Americans understand that this is an isolated incident, and I doubt it will cause much of anti-Korean sentiments. Perhaps, if Americans were Koreans, it might have...
I'm also mad at Americans, who want to use this opportunity to revise the Gun-Control Laws. This is not a time for political debates. And we all know that they are going to do nothing but pass a superficial bill that does not keep guns out of criminals hands (DC has the toughest gun control law, but also has the highest murder rate of any major city).
It is a time to mourn and weep. Jesus, after arriving at the tomb of his beloved Lazarus, wept. We need to mourn with those who mourn and weep with those who weep. Sad day in American history. May God comfort those who are mourning! | | |
| So...after talking with my friend "J"...actually let's call him "S"...his status changed from complicated to official...
apparently he had a conversation about his status change with "JH" who currently resides at SA...when JH asked if S was happy because it's official now (with JS), he replied, "I dunno. I feel more sad, because last week I was complicated with two, but now I only have one."
Go "S"!!!

| Barak Obama is speaking at UT today. For all the Barak fans out there, I just want to ask, what has he done in his political career to make him a successful presidential candidate? The answer, absolutely nothing!
Apparently, Mrs. Clinton wants Obama to return campaign funds raised by DreamWorks Studio founder David Geffen, who raised $1.3 million for Obama. Clinton says Geffen is "slash and burn" guy and Obama should have no ties with such person. Ironic that Clinton had no problem with Geffen when he was raising $18 million for them, and was sleeping in Lincoln Bedroom of White House at their invitation. How quickly things turn around. Sounds like most Democrats voting pattern - flip flopping on every issue depending on public sentiments...
UT Democrat student interviewed with a radio station this morning. Host: "What policies has Barak endorsed that you endorse? What is he going to do as President that will make him a great president?" UT Democrat: "Well, he's a charming and nice guy. As far as the specifics goes...well...I can't say, but it's not every day you get to call a senator by his first name."
Ok...there you have it...We don't need to worry about issues. We just need a nice, charming guy in White House. At least, that's what Democrats want!
